House2Home
House2Home is a web-based resource that allows users to easily access a gallery of budget friendly interior design items. The target persona of this product is anyone who wants to make their space feel like home, know what style of design they like; but do not know how to achieve it. House2Home provides a safe space for someone to explore different interior design styles, and allows the most rookie designer to create a space in their house that makes it feel like home.

User Journey
A key user flow was then identified as the main journey our user would take when navigating our website.
Ideate
An intense brainstorming session was initiated to generate a multitude of ideas for how the user could experience the main user flow. How might we display products from design styles so that our user feels more empowered to purchase them with confidence?
Solution 2
In choosing their design style, a gallery of products would populate
I decided to move forward with Solution 2, where the user would have access to a gallery of products based on the design style chosen. The primary reason behind this decision was because it presented decor items in a way that was very familiar to what users would experience in most e-commerce websites. The thought here was to decrease cognitive load in having to learn how to navigate the site, based on feedback from users that the topic of interior design for them felt “overwhelming.”

Usability Testing
Interviews were conducted over the phone to test the initial House2Home website. Interviewees were asked to navigate the House2Home prototype, and add decor items to their cart. Users were encouraged to think out loud as they navigated the site. There were 2 main takeaways from user testing.
Final Designs
To close, the initial design for the House2Home site took users through an online journey of walking through the home in order to select decor items that fit their desired design aesthetic. Through user testing, it was discovered that taking users through a series of screens before the decor items resulted in some confusion. The final design incorporated user feedback to make the complete user journey easier to navigate. Incorporating these design iterations also aligns with the business goal of the website, which is to sell decor.

Initial Research Findings
Through examining different user personas, a common theme was discovered when discussing interior decor.
